College Wrap-Up for Nov. 12

This is the second installment of the fall College-Wrap Up series.

Ken McClure and Mario McLean from Montville High School as well as Dominique Dixon, Morris Hills High School, Sotiris Spiliotopoulos, Dover High School, and Dan Fulton, Parsippany Hills High School, are members of the Montclair State University football program this fall. As of Oct. 25, McLean, a sophomore defensive back, led the team in interceptions with four. McLean also had 25 tackles and three fumble returns during that time. McClure had eight tackles and recovered a fumble in three games played as a defensive lineman. Dixon, a junior defensive back, had 19 tackles and recovered a fumble in seven games played for the Red Hawks. Fulton is listed as a sophomore offensive lineman and Spiliotopoulos as a freshman offensive lineman. Montclair had an overall record of 6-1 after seven regular season contests.

Sasa Dobrijevic, Parsippany High School, Sean Pauls, Morris Knolls High School, and Rodrigo Santiago, Morris Hills High School, are all part of the Montclair State men’s soccer team this fall. Santiago, a freshman forward, had five goals and eight assists after 18 games played for the Red Hawks. In 12 games played, Pauls, a freshman midfielder, had a goal and an assist. Dobrijevic, a freshman midfielder, had an assist in four games played for the Red Hawks. As of Oct. 29, Monclair had an overall record of 18-0.

Christina Nunes from Parsippany Hills High School played in eight of the opening 19 games for the Montclair State women’s soccer team this season. Nunes is a listed as a sophomore defender for the Red Hawks.

Melissa Buttray from Boonton High School played in each of the first 15 games and recorded an assist as a junior midfielder for the Montclair State field hockey team. The Red Hawks were 9-6 as of October 30. 

Kyle Soloff from Morris Hills High School is a sophomore on the roster of the Princeton University  men’s cross country program. Soloff ran a personal best time of 25:53.50 in the 8k at the recent Princeton Invitational. Princeton won the team crown.
